Update Overview:

Every quarter, Wake Transit Partners have the opportunity to requests amendments to the annual Work Plan. This process is governed by the Wake Transit Work Plan amendment policy which establishes procedures for submitting and processing amendments, amendment eligibility, and lead agency responsibilities. CAMPO is currently in the process of updating the Wake Transit Work Plan Amendment Policy, which was last updated in FY2026. In accordance with the Wake Transit Community Engagement Policy, this document will be released for a 14-day public comment period starting on September 28, 2026.

Recommendations: 

• Eliminating the difference between major and minor amendments to remove ambiguity and to create a standardized public comment period for all amendment requests.
• Establishing guidelines for budget transfers vs. amendments. Any transfer of funds between different budget ordinances requires an amendment. The transfer of funds within a budget ordinance may be done through a budget transfer.
• Clarifying lead agency roles surrounding community engagement and removing references to specific committees (e.g., B&F Subcommittee, CE Subcommittee) and websites (GoForward).
• Removing the special cycle for period of performance extensions
